Are you struggling with the finding the right words to break bad news to patients? Would you like to be taught the skills to break bad news sensitively to your patients? Do you need a toolkit to equip yourself with the resilience and techniques to bear the brunt of difficult situations that arise in your everyday?
ARCS is delighted to host the first in-person Breaking Bad News Event since the outbreak of COVID. Building on the huge success of previous years, the event is led by counsellors from the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA) and teaches reproductive clinical scientists to break difficult news to patients.
The course is designed for both ARCS and non-ARCS members at all stages of their career and is tailor-made for professionals within Reproductive Science. ARCS is committed to the ongoing development of its members, and consequently has invited two well-respected trainers with years of experience in the field to run an interactive and informative workshop on breaking bad news models and techniques. The day aims to provide reproductive scientists with the tool-kit and communication skills in not only bearing difficult news to patients that is unfortunately so often part and parcel of the clinical role, but also in building coping mechanisms for the messenger themselves. In previous years delegates have described the event as “an essential workshop for all embryologists” and “a perfect summary of how to effectively handle difficult situations” and was recommended by all attendees.
The event will be held on Friday, April 29th 2022, at The Studio, 7 Cannon Street, Birmingham, B2 5EP. Registration for the event will close on Wednesday, 15th April 2022.
